April News Letter
Above is my newsletter that i sent out for the month of April. If you click on the photo it will upload and you and view the entire newsletter. ENJOY!!
What's New
Art. art. ArT. ART. That's all that is on my mind lately. As my classes for this semester have been progressing i have been learning more and more about setting up my own artistic career. Recently, things I have done for my career are, obviously, starting up this blog, making my very own business cards, sending out a newsletter which reached over 175 people!!! I was amazed at all of the feedback that i received from this. I was even more shocked that no one wanted to unsubscribe. (I will post my newsletter after this entry so everyone can see it if they have not.)
From all of this excitement and realism it has made me want to develop this into something much much greater.
This has been an amazing experience that i have enjoyed so so much. As the time in my classes is slowly ending i am wondering how i am going to continue my career. I am hoping to up keep my newsletter and start selling pieces on my own. I feel as tho this career can help me so much in the future. It is something that i enjoy and something that i think can take me very far.

Art in New York
Hello Everyone,
A few weeks ago i had the pleasure of traveling to New York City. I went with Missouri Valley College's Art Department. We started off our trip by heading to the airport at 4 am. OH MAN, was this early.
Upon getting to the airport our flight was delayed, our lay over was cancelled, they had to hold our transfering flight and then we got to New York later than we thought we would. It was ok tho. It didn't stop us from having a great trip.
While in New York i got to see so many amazing things. This was a trip that i will never forget and i was so thankful that i was able to experience it. I am planning to upload pictures soon so stay tuned for those. As i upload pictures from this i will share more of the story.

NEW YORK!!!!
There is officially 8 days till i leave for New York. Yes, that is right!! 8 DAYS!!!! I am so excited. I have only been here one time but i felt and home and i can not wait to go back. Did i mention that i am excited!! I LOVE all of the fashion, traffic, people, art, theater, food EVERYTHING!!! While being excited about this i decided to check out the weather and it is supposed to be about 60 degrees every day we are there. How exciting is that...
I will be traveling there with the schools art dept. There is 11 of us going and i hope to experience so many things with them. Last time i was there i took a bunch of photos which started my New York series. However, almost everything was in black and white (which is my favorite way to take pictures).. But!! This time i want to make a part two to the series and i hope for all of the pics to be in color. I am somewhat nervous to do this because color is not my expertise but who knows. Maybe somethings will turn out pretty good. Here is a pic from part one of the New York Series.. This is where i will be in 8 days. My home away from home <3

I am in love!! Pintrest is the best thing probably ever invented. I am completely obsessed with it!! I love being able to find cool crafts and make things that i normally would not know how to do. I just found my new favorite website and i have already started making some interesting things. http://abeautifulmess.typepad.com/my_weblog/projects-a-beautiful-mess-diy-index.html is this cool website that has tons and tons of crafts. I am currently trying to transfer a picture to canvas to make an old time looking photo. Its awesome. When it is complete i will post some pictures of it! I am literally in love!!
ART!!! Art is presented in many different ways. People see many different things as art. This is blog is all about how i see art. What i think is art. Art is something that i want to share with others. It is something that i hope to make others happy with. This is how i see art.....
Beauty. We are all it. It is just that my
beauty, your beauty, his beauty, her beauty. The past, the present, the future.
. . They’re all different. Everybody and everything has beauty within it; just
not everybody can see it. However, for every beauty there is an eye somewhere
to see it; to capture it. That is what I like to do with my artwork. I like to
capture what the average person does not see and tends to take for granted. As
life goes on things tend to change, grow and evolve. We forget to actually look
at things in life and instead look at what is simply presented to us. Not what
is truly there. Not what is underneath the surface. We break one of the golden rules and judge a
book by its cover.
My goal with my artwork is to bring happiness
to others and display a message. People take things for granted too often in
life and I like to remind them of what once was. I enjoy creating art because
it is a way for me to let my feelings and emotions escape yet it is also a way
for me to relate to others and bring them happiness and joy.
With time, my artwork and style is constantly
changing. I draw, sculpt, design, paint and photograph. As my collection
continues to grow, I have started to lean more towards photography. I love to
do all forms of art but I prefer photography because it allows you to capture
things in there originally state. It allows you to capture a scene of life and
either transition it into a story or allow it to reveal its own story from the
past.
My New York Series of pictures is
currently my favorite. Coney Island and the city of New York are the backdrops
for my New York series. Both
places used to be magnificent. However, all of the fame and glory that these
places once had has taken a toll on them and now they have changed. As time
goes on things start to become run down and the type of people that are around
these areas tend to change. However, the original foundations of these places
still exist. This is what people forget to look at. They forget about the
original beauty that made it what it is today. That is what I like to look at.
That is what I hope to capture in my artwork; the beauty and inspiration that
is still there and will continue to be there for years to come.
I hope
to continue to produce similar artwork to my New York Series. Currently with my photography I am working
on a Rural Life Series and a Kansas City Series. Along with my
photography I hope to continue to focus on other medias and still deliver the
same message and feelings and portray the unseen beauty in things.
This picture is just a little something from my New York Series. It was taken at Central Park during an unexpected rain storm that came. I love the movement in the picture and the different highlights and lowlights in the scenery and the water on the stairs. This is one of my favorites.
